What a MESH! -- Valentine's Edition

Okay, I think this is going to be it for my mesh obsession. No promises though!  In the back of my mind, I do think a mesh for all seasons would be nice.

If  after bombarding you with all this mesh (Pumpkin Wreath, 2nd Pumpkin Wreath, Candy Cane Wreath) you're wondering, I like mesh because it's so simple to use, and it's totally fool proof.  It covers a world of crafty indiscretions.  Plus, the results are always pleasing.

Here's my new Mesh Valentine's Heart Wreath!

I saw this grapevine heart wreath for just a couple of dollars, and decided that would be my base.  You can still see the vine through the mesh, but I kind of like that about it.

I started on the the bottom, gathered the mesh, and wired it to the backside of the wreath.  Pull it straight across the front, gather the mesh and wire it to the back of the wreath.

Then, bend it back over itself, across the wreath, then around to the back, gather the mesh and wire.  Just continue doing that all the way around until the wreath is covered.

Then I remembered I had some extra whimsical white stuff in my Christmas stash.  So, I pulled it out and cut it apart and did a little bending to make an arrow going through.  I just hot glued that on the back.

Finished product:

I also made one of these for my mom's door, but I used a little different method.  (no pics of this one)  I just started the same way by gathering and wiring the mesh on the back of the wreath, but then I just wrapped it around and around (no back and forth) with a good wiring every once in awhile.   They look very similar, but I think the back and forth method gives it a bit more fullness.  Time-wise the wrapping around method is a bit faster, but it does end up using more mesh.  It's all up to how you!

Okay, I take back what I said at the beginning of this.  There will definitely be MORE MESH in my future.  Every time I use it, my addiction to it grows a bit stronger.  I think they call that a dependency. :)
