Well, I better get this out of the way right from the beginning... there is no actual "butterfinger" in this popcorn treat. Something about the combination of ingredients makes me think I'm tasting butterfinger when I eat it though. Anything that makes me think of butterfingers makes me feel happy.
I've been making this little goodie for a few years now, mostly when my oldest brother comes to town for a visit because it seems to be his favorite treat that I make. Although lately, it seems I've been making up a batch at least once a week for one reason or another.
It's a great one, if you don't mind losing all control of your hand which seems to keep finding it's way back into the bowl for "just one more bite." Darn hand! The mind can't be held responsible when the hand is acting out. Rationalize!!
I love this recipe because it's so quick, so simple, and so delicious!
Hope you enjoy!!
Butterfingery Popcorn
2 (3 oz) Bags Microwave Popcorn with extra kernels removed
3 cups Rice Krispies (absolutely the secret ingredient to this recipe!! Leaves it with the perfect crunch.)
1 to 2 cups Seasonal Candy (I ALWAYS use hot tamales in this recipe. I'm not a crazy cinnamon lover, but the popcorn, sauce, and hot tamales balance each other beyond perfectly! Magic!)
24oz Vanilla Almond Bark
2 heaping Tbs Peanut Butter (crunchy or creamy... I've used both, and liked both)
Combine popcorn, rice krispies, and candy in a large bowl.
In a microwave safe bowl, melt vanilla bark and peanut butter until it's creamy. (use the package instructions... careful not to burn)
Pour melted mixture over popcorn mixture and stir until all the popcorn is coated.
Spread popcorn mixture out on a large piece of foil and let cool.
Once cooled, break apart and ENJOY!!!

Best popcorn ever!! So addictive and yummy. Thanks for sharing!
